Networking by Karen Fainges

Ever heard the phrase it is not what you know it’s who you know? It is a fact of life that a lot of your goals are easier to reach if you have someone give you a leg up. So what if you don’t know anyone?

The best way is to help others. Let’s take an example, say you have written a book on fishing. Try going to your local fishing store and offer to give expert talks and donate a couple of the books as prizes. They sell more gear, you promote your book. Everybody wins.

So what about fiction? There are vampire sites you can swap links with, or gun pages for your dectective stories. If you think hard, there is always someone out there you can help and then help yourself.
