Thank you

. I don’t to speak as a writer this week, I want to speak as a reader.

I want to say, to each and everyone who writes, published or unpublished, poetry, prose, crime, horror, romance, whatever, I want to say:

Thank you.

You see, I had a bad day last week. Nothing bad actually happened, but I was edgy and awkward and clumsy. I kept tripping over and bumping into things and dropping my shopping and getting irritated. Everything was just wrong.

Then I sat down, and started to read.

Within moments I had relaxed. I felt all the tension just float out of me. Suddenly, none of these things that had irritated me seemed to matter any more. In ten minutes I was giggling (it was a funny book, I wasn’t just randomly giggling) and I got so sunk into the book, I forgot the outside world completely.

When I closed the book, I was happy.

So I want to say thank you. I want to thank you for all those worlds to explore, all those characters to watch, all those plots to work out, all those ‘gasp’ moments, every giggle, every tear. You make life so much better.
